I'm only a newbie to this veg lark, but I never heard of BBs getting clubroot. Beans do get nodules, on the roots though as a matter of course, something to do with nitrogen fixing bacteria, I think.
I demand the right to buy seed of varieties that are not "distinct, uniform and stable".

He's either very mistaken or pulling your leg.

Either way he should know better. I hope you've not burnt your beans yet.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

These would be the nitrogen containing nodules that woodburner posted about....

How did these beans come about? Sown in-situ, transplanted this winter or spring?

They sound like struggling a bit, but, no rot even let alone club root.

...just been to the allotment to take pics with phone they should be clear enough also one of the spud patch looking ok the beans are at the bottom of these .....
the first picture is the size of plot  down to the green compost bin ..the two black bins were on my plot already so that was a bonus  ....

Quite a bit of weevil damage, which they pull through normally, but some look weird, I'm not sure what it is but buds and shoots look very barren to me, any chance something else is also stripping them?

Could you have sprayed weed killer near them and some of the spray has caught them? They look deformed like something has stunted them.

the pic with the potatoe's in to the right u can just see some tarp covering a patch a bit bigger than the one with spuds in.to the left of the alien beans. lol is another patch with runner beans and some hispi cabages. got  to dig some more as just got some summer purple sprouting plants to put in i got from a farmers market but the weather is a bit cack...plus i have loads of clinker to battle with as wellas the usual weeds but not to bad for just over a months work ...... nope no weed killer every one is unsure what it is on the allotment . one old guy has said he has never seen beans like it ?

i have sprayed with a organic spray i to kill black fly and the like in desperation to try and save them

As I said before, I'm a newbie to this veg lark, but I'm wondering if it's a virus. Ants carry apids around and aphids carry viruses.

I think it could be a virus infection.
