A hoe usually does then, but if not, you'll get 'em next time!
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

best time to hoe is at the start of a bright sunny day - then if you've only severely injured them the sun will finish them off
All these moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain.

I reckon it's a good job for a sunny day. Bit of mindless weeding is quite de-stressing I think.

I think a good hoe is needed though so it shears em off easily  :D

Keep your whetstone handy. :)
I demand the right to buy seed of varieties that are not "distinct, uniform and stable".

I've got a swoe and I don't think it's meant to be sharpened. It doesn't look as if it's meant to be.  Not sure though

I don't have a whetstone. I rub the edges of the tools with a piece of sandpaper.  Will that do  :D

Didn't ring any bells after all   so i googled it. Looks like it can be sharpened to me.
Personally I prefer a dutch hoe, doesn't dig in like the others do, so you don't have to keep lifting it.

Digging up old memories here but I think emery paper is better as it's harder stuff, next after diamonds I think. A steel would be easier to use though, and easier to find than a whetstone like mine.  :o

(It's almost cylindrical but tapered towards each end from about an 1 1/4" in the middle to about 3/4" at the ends, and I'm blowed if I can find anything remotely like it on the net, nor have I seen one in the shops anywhere  :? ) I'd better not lose it!!!

That was my favourite until I got the hoe. ;) It's too fiddly to sharpen though and doesn't seperate the top from the roots like the dutch hoe does  It's still good for preparing beds for sowing, I prefer it to a rake as a rake tends to accumulate all the stones and similar sized lumps of earth at the surface.
