I noticed (today only) the post about the frost risk.   I usually use uk.weather.com or BBC weather and they don't tend to give anything more detailed than a little picture and max temp.

What site might tell me if there is a risk of frost?

Don't have time to watch the TV forecast as too busy digging till the light goes!!

I use metcheck - metcheck.com. It gives detailed levels of frost risk for your location (Note - I've only ever used the free facilities, not paid for the extra ones).

I use metcheck as well and I have recently discovered if you click on hobbies near the top of the page you can then select gardening and it will give you temperatures and soil temperatures.

Will check them out now.   I am planting my sweetcorn tonight as most of the others on our site have and planting out BNS and Pumpkins on the weekend, so will  be watching the weather like a hawk!

I use the gardeners world website, that also give you soil temperature and wind chill, and has a 7 day forecast on it.

You can do a post code search and you can get a pretty reliable 10 day forecast.

With the BBC forecast threatening frost where I am I covered everything up but there never was a frost here.

This site however didn't forecast frost and they were right.

I am hoping we are pretty much past the frost risk now but I think netweather is the most relaible forecast on the net, certainly better than metcheck if a little less colourful

I use the BBC but AFAIK it doesn't say if there's a frost risk.
I just know that if it's  forecast 5C or lower and a clear sky, there'll be some frost.

I'm using the gardener's world forcast. There's no sign of frost in the next week so I took a car load of plants down the allotment and put them in! There'll be another car load at the weekend- now perhaps my patio will stop looking like a small garden centre

i listen out for the trains.the track is 2 miles away and it werks everytime

I have just had a look at metcheck.com and think it is great. I have a weather station at home and the figures from the website are very close to what i am showing! Seems accurate to me!
