Have planted out some savoy cabbages, all about 8 leaves, 6 inches tall. Something is decimating them, I'm thinking probably slugs as half the larger leaves are being chomped at a time. I've put out beer traps caught a few, but still getting "Slugged"!
Any ideas?

Could be pigeons who love to munch these, protect them with netting or something similar.

No they're not netted, they're planted next to a row of spuds on the edge of a raised garden, about 3 foot off the ground - I'm not sure the pidgies would have room to perch though
Could I use fleece still as I don't have any net at the mo (well only a small piece that won't be big enough). I tried this last year and it worked well, the spuds are earlies, so once I pull them there's lots of room for the cabbages to keep growing,
