Risk of frost?
« on: May 13, 2008, 15:38 »
I am in the midlands and was waiting until first week in June to put out my sweetcorn, BNS and pumpkins, but with the ofrecast until 22nd May being a low of 7 and max of up to 20, do you think I would be safe to put them out now?

Also ~I have been putting my BNS and pumpkins on patio in the day and the leaves are dreadfully scorched, should I give them soe shade on the lottie?

There is always some risk of frost in May, pretty much, keep a fleece handy and eye on the weather.

Don't think they'll need shade, should adjust with time, depends though how young they are - number of leaves, number injured and root size, be reasonable, bit by bit.
