Can anyone give me any advice on growing cucumbers please?

I bought two cucumber plants at the weekend from the local garden centre and we only have a small garden so therefore have to grow things in pots.

Thank you.

I'm growing them for the first time too Kim, also in big pots (buckets).
They'll need some support to grow up against. Mine are against a mesh fence, but you can make a mesh frame to put behind them or some trellis or similar.
Oh, also things in pots dry out faster & need regular (weekly) feeding, so keep an eye on that.
Good luck  :)

I'm doing the same thing. everything is in containers till i get an allotment.

At the moment my cucumber plants are being held up by bamboo canes.
The best advice i can give at the mo (my first time growing them) is too keep them well watered and make sure they have good drainage.

My plants tend to soak up water in seconds after i feed them, once a day in cold weather and twice in hot.

Good Luck!

Cucumbers are very thirsty plants and as commonly grown upwards, won't take up much soil space, would be much easier for you to put them in the ground against some support.

I'm growing an outdoor type for the allotment, will they need the soil to be manured(well rotted) or is this it not a good idea?

They will love you for ever if you do.

The label says can be planted outside under cloches or best under glass
Ideal for patio planters.

I love cucumber so to grow my own would be a great treat and achievement.
