Gooseberry sawfly preventions ?
« on: May 11, 2008, 20:51 »
Does anyone know of any preventative measures that can be taken against Goosebery sawfly.

I seem to get it every year but have been generally lucky enough to catch it early and sprayed the catterpillars with derris.

My concern is that one year I was away for just a few days, and when I got back every single leaf had been eaten.

So is there anything that can be sprayed as a prevention rather than a cure ,when I go away for a week or so ? :?

Not really or at all, 3 generations a season, bit like carrot fly, sorry.

Lot's of digging to dislocate the pupae, maybe? :?
