So... I often read "watch out for scaly legs" what should a good handsome pair of chicken legs look like? (we have poo pics do we have leg pics?)   Also, do I need to clip the claws of my girls how long is too long?  Thank you!

The scales on their legs should be nice and smooth and flat like the scales on a fish.  There is a picture of scaly leg in our lice and mites article in the Poultry Information section.

Hens nails are quite long and it is probably unlikely you will need to cut them if they have plenty of opportunity to use their JCB talents
