When I was letting out my hens out this morning, I found a poo that is worrying me!
At first glance I thought there was some blood in the poo, but on further investigaton (and, I'm afraid, a bit of prodding with a stick) it was a small mass of stringy stuff. IS THIS A CASE OF WORMS?
If so, here's a few of my concerns........
1. What do I do about it?
2. Should I stop the kids playing with the hens, especially my lad who seems to be allergic to water and washing?
3. How do hens catch them?
4. Will all of them need treating if it is worms cos at the moment I don't know who produced THAT poo?
5. Can we still eat the eggs being produced?
They all seem happy and lively and are busy eating and drinking lots. No one looks down in the dumps in any way.......
Should have taken a picture. Will look for more dodgy poo as after examining it I poop scooped it out of harm's way.
Thanks, LP
