Squirrels get to mine, I've seen the b*ggers at it!

Oh *bleep* we are infested with them here . . .
I demand the right to buy seed of varieties that are not "distinct, uniform and stable".

Oh good grief. . . We have squirrels a plenty and mice and muntjack, and someone identified a mysterious poo on the lawn as badger . . . and I have over 40 little sweetcorn plants in the conservatory. . . sounds like I will have a better chance of eating homegrown corn ont he cob if I leave them in there

Rabbits, mice and now squirels !

Up until this year I have only looked after a small raised bed in my back garden. Now I have the allotment, I not only have to put up with the local moggies (sorry wombat)  using my patch as a litter tray, I have almost put a ground level vegtable market out for all the resident that come in under the fence

I`m off to get a DOG........

 Just had a corker of an idea, how about shelving the dog purchace plan for now, head of down to the local petshop and buy a shed load of tasty morsels for the visiting critters and scatter the lot around my neighbours allotment (sharkwatch) 8) My crop will almost be as safe as having armed guards around them!!!

Remember the stale ale sharkwatch?

Beadwindow,

Feel free to attract the critters to my plot, with my growing skills producing many fine large vegetables I can afford to be generous to the local wildlife and hardly notice the loss.

On the other hand with your leggy seedlings sure to produce very little in the way of vegetables you would surely notice the very great loss from the munchings of a solitary anorexic, pygmy woodlouse.

If you need some growing advice or some veg come the summer, please don't be too proud to ask.

Sharkwatch.

I cannot believe it, I potted up a grand selection of sweetcorn in nice clean pots, new compost and plenty of care. I came back after a nice long weekend away from the little cherubs and to my horror only half of them are through!

I have had a gentle tickle in the soil and there are no sign of them at all. In anticipation of a poor germinating crop, I have potted another batch up.

Is this common? or have I been sabotaged by my fellow allotmenteer Shark"I`ll win at any cost"watch
