No, it's all female in cukes nowadays, but if you can get another plant growing, the better pollination you might get, are they indoor ones, those might need hand pollinating. Otherwise, plant them out end of May, and ope for bug life around.

does it have to be on the windowsill?
If you get an outside variety ie Burpless Tasty Green - which grows fine in this climate, I growbag these with the toms and sweet peppers, all outside - no probs

You & me both! (Carmen)

Seeds not cheap (£7.99) from T & M, but got mine using that 'spend £10, get the most expensive packet free' offer.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

I've got Masterpice on the go, but that's my one failure so far this year. Only 2 out of 6 germinated - had to re-sow.

I like the mini cucumbers.  Last year I grew "Mini Munch"which was lovely this year I'm trying "Ilas". both are greenhouse varieties and very prolific fruiters.

I'm trying Mirella and Wautoma, also have tasty burpless green and marketmore. Hope they grow as my four year old told me that cucumbers are his favourite vegetable. I then asked him about carrots, broccoli, cauliflower etc and he changed his mind and said they are all his favourites  :D
