just like normal broc in boiling salted water for 5-8 minutes!

Knob of butter if your waist allows and yum!

Oh great thanks - although seemed to have waited almost a year for one meal worth  i guess there might be a bit more to come.

I steam mine for 3-5 minutes.  Made a big mistake first time and forgot about it - left with a soggy mess drained of any purple colouring!

Handed some out to friends earlier today.  Waited ages for it to come along and now have far, far too much.  So much more to learn!

Either way, really, steaming stuff is always more flavour. Also soup or use as with cauliflower cheese, etc, like said as broccoli. 8)

It is very nice with garlic, chillie flakes and anchovies - just fry them a bit and put par-boiled psb in. Eat it with pasta.
Self-sufficient in rasberries and bindweed. Slug pellets can be handy.

had a fantastic crop this year, still going strong, I always steam it as I do most veg, must say I dont agree with adding stuff like chilli flakes, this is one I really look forward too on its own, I prefer it to asparagus.

Mmmm - my favourite veg!
I love it with caesar dressing - Delia has a very good recipe in Summer Cooking for the dressing.
Also lovely with soft boiled eggs - use broccoli as soldiers.
