That looks nice and sturdy, and a good size too. What are you going to grow in there?  :)

Well I think you should pat yourself on the back. Does it feel as warm inside as a greenhouse or polytunnel? Where did you get you plastic sheeting and how easy was it to do?
I know less today than I did yesterday, and I knew nothing then!

Hi Omegaman1

Cheers mate I like nice and sturdy its the only way to make sure it don't fall down or fly away  and I am well pleased with the space inside.

At the moment I have strawberries, tomatoes, onions, spring onions, chives and mint in the polyhouse. not sure what else to grow in it yet if you have any ideas please let me know as I am only a newbie and still feeling my way

take care

Hi Weeeed

Thanks, pat recieved

it gets very nice and warm inside, it reached 90 on saturday and even with the door and window open it only dropped to 72 - 74.

I got the thermal anti fog polythene from www.firsttunnels.co.uk and once all the wood was cut to size it fairly easy to put together as long as there is 2 of you doing it  :)

Take care

Lovely job marky
we've just built our own (unheated but against a kitchen wall so quite warm)  greenhouse, at a fraction of the cost of a normal one.  Makes you chuffed with yourself doesnt it? I even managed to use mine as a college project!
Ive got chillies and peppers in mine and theyll stay there, I lost all my chillies last year bunging em outside! Ive also started sweetcorn off there too as well as loads of other stuff that I didnt have room for indoors
Some have been a little slow (eg toms that still havent germinated and were planted apr 7th)
The polyhouse is your oyster :-)

Brilliant job there - very impressed - just wish I had the ability to build something like it, we bought a polytunnel from Firs Tunnels and in 5 -6 years it will have paid for itself in the crops we grown in it and savings made from shopping

For 2 years now we grow enough toms to make soup and past sauce for the rest of the year - this year it is Plum tomatoes to try and get a thicker soup and sauce.

The OH is the expert and has masses of bits and bobs growing away even in winter when it got down to -12 - the polytunnel only just diped beloew freezing and at the moment it still gets cold at night and very windy so offers good protection.

Also a good spot to prepare your hanging baskets before putting them out, they can grow on hanging from the roof.

Good luck with you new emporium

our allotment is 9 kilometres from the sea and have been told that the salt in the air will rot the plastic or poly in 3-5 years.we bought tents from lidle and they rotted after 18 month.

Hi James

Thanks mate, I'm lucky that I have always worked in the building trade and already got the tools for these jobs, makes life so much easy and cheaper

I got the same idea with the toms, lots of soup and lots of sauce, sounds great to me :)

As for hanging baskets my OH is doing that as I type

Good luck with yours and take care.
