[Dawn in the North]

Hi There,

My Rhubarb looks like it developing what looks like huge flower buds  :shock: (kinda pinky flowery stuff - flowery like   :oops: ). Is this normal and should I allow the flower to develop if I want a crop of rhubarb this year - this is the second year the rhubarb has been in so I was hoping for a better crop this year.

Normal, but do cut it off.

Mine have just started to develop buds as well and I have taken them off.

If it looks like a flower bud remove it ASAP. If you allow it to flower it will reduce if not stop further stems developing.
My rhubarb has tried to flower every year since I grew it from seed. I just whip off the buds and its fine for the rest of the season.
