Yellow legs.
« on: April 18, 2008, 19:01 »
Ive noticed that one of my red hens is not well. She seems to be like "Miss Attitude" who we lost in the new year. She looks puffed up, and she keeps closing her eyes. She seems to be off her food, Something I noticed today though. her legs and feet looked very yellow in comparison to the others. Any ideas or thoughts gratefully received.

Thanks as always,

Mary :?

Can I point you to this webpage Mary ?

http://resources.bittybirds.com/health.html#liver

With the yellowing my first thought was liver problems. May not be anything to do with it but worth a look maybe.

Hope she improves soon.

As Foxy said.  It is the symptom of many things.  No idea about the legs though   :(

Were they yellow before?  I know its a silly question, but some breeds do have yellow legs, but I'd not really noticed what colour their legs were before!!!!

Thanks for that link Rob, Ive added it to my favourites. Doris has made a slow recovery over the past two days, and has done a lot of walking around the field today with her friends, and seems to be eating better. I think I may just be a bit paranoid as Ive lost a couple recently.

Thanks again,
Mary.

Embarrasingly, I only just thought about what colour the Amberlinks' legs are.

Yep, you guessed it. Yellow.
