Gardeners World - Joe Swifts allotment
« on: April 12, 2008, 07:38 »
:? Don't know what anyone else thought of this last night :?
I thought it was a joke. Hiring a digger to clear some grass....in effect removing a lot of his topsoil, being 'given' some quality wood from B&Q (not because we are from the BBC, yeah right), its TV I know but really..............maybe this has inspired poeple to take on an allotment?
I think most people would think that hiring a digger, having to have a gig transit etc was beyond them.

The only thing that gladdened me was that his council delivered the same black compost that we had, which I post a note about a couple of weeks ago.

Enough, ok...

he didnt hire the digger that came free when he took the allotment on. They cleared the top layer for free.
I do agree that B&Q would have not give that timber away, not in a million years.
He should have stood his shed on that nice timber instead of pallets though. How long before they warp with the weight & rain on them?

That was the best GW I've seen for a few years. At least they have stopped flash frying the subjects.
MY BACKS ACHING!!!!!!! AGAIN!!!!

Alex there is already a thread on it here...

http://www.chat.allotment-garden.org/viewtopic.php?t=15898

It currently resides in 'Off Topic', but having seen you post here, it may be better off in this forum. I'll get it moved & close this thread so everything is in one place.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?
