For two months I've been searching for old scaffolding planks, anything that will help make some (non triangular) raised beds for me and my son.

No joy, so how frustrated was I when he waltzes into a yard and just grabs a load of stuff for free. Nothing to do with the BBC, my backside.

I don't have an allotment as I'm disabled, but I am trying still to get two four foot raised beds going in my back garden. In the real world, planks are hard to come by that's for sure

That's my sentiments too.

I was falling about the place when he got the rotavator.
The whole idea of a big bucks gardener pretending to be the little guy is just pointless. You could tell he was under pressure to get something to show fast. Although I suppose it might just have been his own desire to look like he can do everything perfect first time. :? I hope the cooch grass makes it up through the beds
I demand the right to buy seed of varieties that are not "distinct, uniform and stable".

The couch probably won't be visible when the camera crew is there, once a band of underlings have cut it.  Load of rubbish and i am not going to watch it again.  Have Monty and Carol fallen out, she obviously doesn't like the travel from home to Berryfields anymore.

i didnt get to watch GW, to be honest I never thought about watching it, and after my mate 'tiredmum' came round and told me how awful it was and so not true, I doubt I will be watching it!!
This is our first time on an allotment, and it is VERY hard work!!! and I dont expect it not to be.
But I agree with another comment, I bet he has a full growing allotment by the end of the series!!!!

When I was a child in the 70's I use to watch Gardeners World with my mum!! I didn't choose to watch but when I did I actually enjoyed it. I dont anymore!! The allotment plot was the final straw. I know more about plants now but this has nothing to do with why I am so bored with GW! The BIG DIG /ORNAMENTAL KITCHEN GARDEN have recently been shown on sky and are enjoyable shows. If ITv want to pull some viewers in now would be a great time to do a great gardening show and bury Gardeners World for ever!!

Watched the programme with utter disbelief. The guy is a waste of space. I know you shouldn't rotovate with all this couch grass... but I'm going to anyway.

He send out completely the wrong message to anyone interested in having an allotment, not to mention just how damn mardy he is when people comment about what he has done.

As with many, sorry all of these silly programmes, no doubt there was a team of workers doing the graft and Mr. Idiot just turned up for the cameras.

Won't be wasting my time watching this mush again.

I couldn't agree more - what a luvvy hissy fit. I'd expect a garden designer to understand practical matters as well as the aesthetics of his subject.

His raised bads are a joke - can he reach the centre without walking on them? Does he even understand the concept? I don't think so.

I feel like sending him a copy of my book with a letter explaining it's written to help the complete novice to growing

Ooooh... Go John - I dare you!

It might lead to a spot on GW! They need to go back to basics!  :D

It will be fun watching him 'enjoy' his revoutionary diamond shaped beds - maybe he'll change them later to a more practical shape. What you think?
