Cochins and height

I have some cochin chicks that will be joining the rest of the flock on the field in a few weeks. Initially they will be in a small house as they are only small themselves. I have a new 7 ft house for them when they get bigger that they will only be in at night as they will free range. This new house is approximately 2ft off the ground with a ramp, I am now concerned as I have read somewhere that they need a house close to the ground because of their size. What are your thoughts about this?

Two foot off the ground isn't very high and if you have a gently sloping ramp as well, there shouldn't be any problems.

But then you could have got some new chickens to go in that one too. OUr hen houses multiply at the same rate as our chickens - we now have 4 (plus a small dog kennel broody nest!) and are in the process of building two more!

But i'm saving up for an 8x6 shed so that when I get more cochins and brahmas they can all go in it and I can get more hens in the other one.
OH is looking at me as if i've taken leave of my senses, he keeps saying
