Mine came up in about a week in an unheated but covered tray on a sunny windowsill.  Melons were along side them and came up a few days later.

If the window sill/ airing cabinet doesn't work Helen and you need a few more seeds, I have a few Marketmore left. Just pm me.

My Marketmore cucumbers have just emerged 7-10 days after planting in my greenhouse.  They were covered every night with bubble wrap and were there even when the temperatures were below zero at night.
Cheese makes everything better.

I last posted on this thread on Thurs 10th April and I'm really chuffed to say that having followed your advice, 4 days later, 2 of my 4 sweet pepper seeds and my cucumber seed have now germinated. I've removed the clear plastic cover from my cuc now. I'd put them all on the only south facing windowsill I have available. So just my chilli seeds and remaining tom seeds now  :D THANKYOU SO MUCH!!!!  :D

My cucs roots were poking through the bottom of their 3" pots , they were in my mini greenhouse, which most of the time has been kept open as it's been so warm. So I transplanted them today into their final pots. They're outside next to a sun facing wall that's just cool now (nearly 11pm at night) after a lovely sunny day. I've wrapped them up in a sort of padded pvc, the type new furniture is wrapped in on delivery, for the night, as it's too early for them to be outside, but I've nowhere else to put them; and hopefully s & s protection too.

OOH! I meant to ask, DD, that idea about applying those collars to toms, would that also apply to cucs? Thanks

I stuck mine in a heated propagator and was really surprised to see them all sprouting just two days later. I just wish the french beans were as easy  :x

T'was not me that mentioned collars on toms - think it was MKHenry.

I would say not necessary on cues.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?
