Hiya Pran

Welcome to the forum

I wouldn't put the saw dust round plants whilst it may deter slugs it will definately rob the ground of nitrogen. I'd work it into your compost heap ove the year and let it rot down first

Celtic Eagle is right, sawdust is literally murder around crops. I tried it one year (ages ago) and regretted it. It all but killed the plants.

And the slugs won't give a toss. They'll still eat the plants.

hi, to be honest i wouldnt even put it on the compost heap, it takes too long to rot and has no nutrient value. however one idea would be to use it in your green house around your pots to warm them up early in the year.

Good advice that. I have been nagging a friend who cleans at a wood yard to get me some of the sweepings up. I will nag no more!
