Digger Dave's asparagus seeds
« on: April 07, 2008, 15:36 »
Hi guys, I have these fab seeds do I have to do anything special with them or do I just pop them into compost and keep them warm until the weather changes? Yesterday snow (lots of it) Today rain!! Again lots of it. Thanks Jan
I know less today than I did yesterday, and I knew nothing then!

You could have PM'd me!

Pop them in, I use single cell seed tray inserts, about 1/4" deep, keep them warm until germinated & a couple of inches high, they can be then hardened off.

Those I sent to digital biscuit have germinated, so the seed's good!
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

I have just put 24 in compost, I am still not sure about this stuff I got from £stretcher cos they didn't have any perlite or vermiculite though. It just looks and feels like cut up bits of sponge!! Have covered the mini greenhouse and put the heating up in the kitchen, now all I have to do is wait.
