Valor Seed Potatoes
« on: April 06, 2008, 20:57 »
Hi I have bought 3 kg of Valor seed spuds from our Society shop today. The shop is just starting up and we want to support it.

I have never heard of Valor before has anyone grown them? What are they best for e.g boiling, mashing etc etc.

Any help will be gratefully received because I have never heard of them.

Yes, as far as we are concerned on our soil it is one of the most tasteless potatoes we have ever grown.

But a good strong grower, no slug damage and enormous tubers. Baking, jackets is the way, most preserves flavours that way of cooking. 8)

I've grown them and we liked them a lot. Quite blight resistant as well. We found they made good roasties and chips which Sarpo don't so a good compliment.

There's a list of what potato is good for what on the site:
