I grew mange tout last year and liked it.
This year I am going to try also sugar snap peas, which judging by some I bought at the supermarket seem to be sweeter than mangetotut - and perhaps they will freeze better?
Also I am going to try asparagus peas. Does anyone have experience of these?
I have only a small space for growing veg and don't want to waste it so any info will be valuable.

Grew these a couple of years a go. Attractive, but you must pick and eat them very small, no more than thre quarters of an inch long, anymore than that and they go very tough :?
Did sugar snap last year, late harvest at the end of August, better raw in salad than cooked, where they tend to fill with water
My early ow=nward are looking good, can't wait

my sugar snaps last year never made it to the kitchen..... i prefer them raw,  but they still never made it to a plate before being eaten!

The sugar snaps we have bought have been eaten both raw and cooked. They stay crisp when cooked and I hope they freeze better than mangetout which goes wet & soggy when thawed.
I think I will not give much space to asparagus peas this year until I have tried them.
