Have you tried the suppliers list here

suppliers list

There's a couple in cambridgeshire.

...or of course there's Flatlands Poultry who comes highly reccomended ! :)  (our very own grannieannie)

But don't know if she's got any bantams.

There are dozens of different types of bantams.

They are split into two types.
True bantams, these are breeds that don't have a large equivalent. I think I'm right in saying that Seabrights and Pekins fall into this category.
Then for want of another word, there are the other type of bantams. These are large fowl breeds that over years of selection have been bred down into bantams. For example, you have large fowl RIRs and there are also bantam versions.

Very few bantams are truly prolific in egg laying and none lay a large egg. On the bonus side you can keep more of them in a limited space and although they produce less, they also eat less.

i have found some barred wyandottes bantams but was looking for something with a bit more colourfull/fancy realy but i would still be happy with them

been told these lay bigger eggs than the pekins and are known as good layers by a few people now so maybe these are the ones i whould go for

You could ringing somewhere like CWG who might have a list of local breeders or just know by word of mouth.

There's one in Stamford and prob others round peterborough.

Get in touch with The Poultry Club of Great Britain and find out when one of the many poultry shows that they hold are being held near to where you live. Go along to it and have a look at the bantams and see what you fancy.

Then ask around a bit and make a nuisance of yourself and see if you can get speaking to either a club official or a breeder. You will almost certainly find someone who is prepared to be helpful. At our club we are always on the look out for new people to get into the fancy, the more the merrier

Didnt someone say polands are good layers for bantams? Our sebright girl is fab - lays 5/6 days a week which I didnt expect. Her eggs are massive compared to the size of her but you would need 3 of her eggs to make full size hen egg.
