Parsnip seeds

Sown some Parsnip seeds today...... then noticed the packet said sow by Jan 08 - fingers crossed I get a crop! :evil:

you should do i have sowed seeds 3 years out of date and still got a crop

I'm going to try some of last years parsnip seeds, but they reckon they only last 1 year. Seems a shame to waste the 2000 odd seeds that I didn't have room for!!!!!

I've bought a new packet too though!!!

I agree - I think I will 'station sow' about 4 seeds at a time and hope that 1 appears!!! :?

I did that last year - worked very well.

Don't forget that parsnips can be affected by carrot fly, although it's not as evident as the wounds let canker in and this is what you see.

If you are making protective barriers for your carrots, it's a good idea to include your parsnips as well.
