We just took in a lovely abandoned moggy about a month or so ago and she has turned out to be the purrrrrfect (sorry) cat in every way....EXCEPT.... she's decided one of my raised beds is her dunny.

I only noticed on Friday as I was adding some compost and generally rummaging about. She digs it in pretty well you see.

Any advice as to how to get her to dodo elsewhere in the garden?????

sorry can't give you any advise on the loo section, but were my land is we have 4 cats on site not pet ones, part wild ones they live in the barns, they do there job at keeping the birds of the crops, so I live with the odd cat calling cards, because of the saving of crops on there part.

Have you got a litter tray?  You might find that she will prefer the delicate crunch of kittylitter underfoot when it's cold and wet outside in the coming weeks!  It might be long enough to break the habit.  Other than that, try and make another area more desirable - perhaps a children's sandpit or something!

A litter tray at the exact spot she likes to go, keep there for a couple of weeks, then move it 4 or 5 metres away, repeat the procedure until you finaly have her going where you want. Cats are very trainable if you can find the patience

They are attracted by the smell of compost much more so than the cat litter I'm afraid , you could try moving the poo itself somewhere where you wouldn't mind her going, but only partial results I should think.

I,ve used mothballs in the past and they worked a treat. Get a small plastic pop bottle, cut it in half, and tie the mothball in a little bit of net curtain. make a few of these depending how big your bed is then tie the net with mothball to a cane about two foot high and push into ground. Use the cut pop bottle over the mothball to stop it getting wet by the rain. As I,ve said I,ve used this when cats were using my flower planters as a toilet and it did the trick, they used next doors instead.

Had exactly the same thing happen this weekend.. Put in a couple of rows  of Spring Onions, and Radishes, then along comes next door's pride and joy, to dig it all up again!!! - Try Hawthorn, If you have some hedges nearby. Works a treat for me
