Bean identification?
« on: March 16, 2008, 12:50 »
Can anyone tell me what sort of bean this is? My daughter brought it home from school as a science project and it's growing like mad. Any help would be great! Also when should it be planted outside?

Thanks all.

Do you have somewhere fairly warm, like a conservatory?  You could try putting it in a tomato pot in there, and see if you can get an early crop.  The only thing is I think they need insect pollinators, so you may have a problem if it flowers before it can go outside.

Thanks for that. I'll repot it and keep it on the windowsill with my tomatoes and hope it warms up soon. I can hardly see out of that window as it is with the amount of leaves on the toms.
