When the Amberlinks started to lay, we were surprised how dainty the eggs were. After a week or so, they started getting a bit bigger and are now generally a good average size.
But this morning.....

The big one is 90g and the smaller one is 63g.

This is a small to average egg next to the biggest egg they've laid so far. I presume she'll be easy to spot from the funny walk she'll be doing.

Poor thing must have wondered what was happening !  :?

There was quite a large one in the nest box late yesterday afternoon so I reckon at least 2 are layign above average sizes.

Maybe that's the norm for them. Have to get some bigger egg cups.

....looks a bit silly in this one !  :D

have to get a competition going. The 'my eggs bigger than your egg' thread.

Now there's a thought. I can't wait. We've got about a dozen eggs on the rack so we ought to get cracking ( ) and eat some up.

I'll report back.

...and Bodger. That's very reassuring.

Double yolkers, as well as being bigger, are normally noticably elongated. I'd probably lose my money, but I'd say that going on the shape, the bigger egg is not a double yolker.

We often get a double yolker from the Amberlinks Rob, especially the older ones!  But that's 2 days eggs in one!  so she may not lay an egg the next day, and I seem to remember Munty saying that a chicken only has an alloted amount of eggs, so the more doubles she lays, the shorter her laying time!

That right Munty??????

Oh and my biggest ever was 107gms!
