peppercorns

Pepercorns are fro a completely different plant, nothing to do with capsicum.

Tropical as well.

Piper Nigrum, very ancient spice, grocers/pepperers, from Asia, India, Thailand, nearby.

The name is used due to some confusion peppers as capsicum were much later introduced from America, can't remember details but some Portuguese word for some colour or similar rings a bell.

BTW, all white, red, black come from the same plant, berries picked at different age.

Well, if my memory serves right it's a sort of 10-13 feet tropical vine, you might get seeds but should really consider where on earth you put it.

I learned last year that pine nuts actually come from pine cones :shock:   It really did not occur to me that they were actually growing in pine cones!!! Neighbours gave me a shell to break open, imagin my surprise when there was a pine nut inside  No wonder they are so expensive-  hard work collecting them and then bashing them open without breaking the nut and you get filthy with a kind of soot too!
