Peat pots
« on: March 14, 2008, 07:43 »
I bought some paper pots from Wilko's a few weeks ago and planted on some tomato seedlings but now the outside of the pots have gone mouldy. Will this affect the plants if I leave them in or should I take them out & re pot in plastic pots?
Also sowed some red cabbage seeds which came up lovely but now the first set of leaves have shrivelled up. Is this normal please?
Roses are red, violets are blue, sugar is sweet, and so are you.
But the roses are wilting, the violets are dead, the sugar bowl's empty, and so is your head.

The seed leaves die after a while, this is normal. :)

marvellous, thanks very much. The tom's are now in plastic pots and I'll wait and see how the cabbages get on.
Thanks again

Last year a lot of people were complaining some peat pots went moldy as well. Could be leftover stock. The wrong type of binder glues were used, so it's not just you rob.
