here is my new hen

i think she is cute

and here she is havin a warm by the greenhouse heater shame she doesnt know its off
need all the help i can get and not just with my allotment

not sure on the breed but i think she could be an ex batt hen as her beak is stubby compared to gerts .but she laid an egg so im chuffed

she is ans she is so tame  :D  :D  she is eating out of my hand and earlier i was running down my lotty as the wind had broken the gate and she was chasing me she made my lotty neighbour laugh and then when i was digging she was at my side all the time and im so pleased with her

Brilliant :!:   She has the look of an ex batt.  They're so comical aren't they.  I reckon if it weren't for hens i'd have cracked up by now :lol:   I find them really relaxing/stress releiving, folk at work think i'm barmy as i'm always relating what my chucks have been up to.  Though they're all animal lovers so tolerate me with a smile :lol:  :lol:  :lol:

Could someone drop one or two in my garden please.  I'm going round the bend over here trying to find where I can get chookie stuff from.   I've been to the two pet superstores - nothing, Scats who will order it in but takes four weeks or so, the local paper, nothing.  Am going to try the poultry club but they only meet every six weeks and I can't get an answer from the no. they give.

Hi Wighty, do you have any old fashioned hardware shops over there, or equestrian feed stores as they will prob have what you need.

Wighty, if you ever come over to the mainland (not that you'd want to living on the isle - lucky sod :lol: ) there are lots of places not too far from the red funnel....
