i got my onion sets in today 8th march all 6KG of them lol . howz every1 else getting on ??

I think it is still a bit early for me to put my onion sets in the allotment, so I have started a couple of dozen in halved toilet roll centres and will transplant into the plot in a few weeks when they have started and the ground is a bit warmer and drier. I will then plant the rest of my sets. I have also got some onions grown from seed doing nicely in the greenhouse. But what do I know I have never grown anything before and need more answers than I have questions!

Got my onion sets in saver cells in the greenhouse under fleece, once they have a good root system i will plant them out, think i have put far too many down though  :lol:

Excuse my ignorance....but what are saver cells???? Googled it and came up with loads of stuff about donated blood!!! :?  :?
