The first egg is like Christmas, Easter and birthdays all rolled into one isn´t it?
now the question... boiled, poached or fried?

We had a "longer than necessary" discussion with our first egg - in the end, it was fried and then we cut it into 3
Best tasting egg - ever!!!

Hi I can't believe how exciting it is finding eggs! We have had our Ex Batts 1 day and they laid 14 eggs! we werent expecting to get any for a while thinking they would need time to adjust to new home etc. all different sizes and colours one was lovely and speckly!
Does anyone know if Ex Batts are a particular breed?

Yes they are mostly reddy brown some paler than others almost blondish really but as some have quite a few feathers missing i presume they will get darker as they get healthier
