If you're selling to people at work and neighbours etc, it's not really any different from buying downloaded/pirated dvds from someone in the office.

If you're worried about selling, then why not barter instead?

Bartering works a treat over here - I know it's a close knit community and to be honest, bartering with eggs is more akin to a kind gesture of thanks.

Thanks everyone. Have to agree with most of you that as long as the birds are healthy and looked after (which mine are) and the eggs havent been incubated (which mine haven't), I don't feel there will be a problem.  Was just after a second, third, fourth opinion.  Thankyou all very much

i have been thinking about selling eggs too as ill have the light sussex chooks and the Khaki Campbell ducks too and i will have too many eggs to eat

but i was told that any eggs you wish to sell have to be tested for salmonella

and so on

Who told you that NP?  certainly not DEFRA!!!!!

Read this bit from DEFRA.  It is interesting and knowing that lot, probs out of date now!!!! but they haven't thought to let us know any different!!!! lol

As to not eating eggs that could be fertilised.  Remember the recent cases of kids hatching shop bought eggs?  And someone said that some of the commercial egg farms keeps cockerals in the flock to keep the hens in line????  So they wouldn't be allowed to sell their eggs if that was true!!
