cucumber problems!

I'm trying Carmen too, it says on the packet sow after 1st March, but seems its better to sow later. You only get 4 seeds so I want to get it right the first time round!!

planted 4 cucumber (telegraph) seeds about 2 weeks ago, got 3 to come up.
two of which appeared in 3 days, both of these have started to show their 1st true leaf.
got them on sunny window sill with rad directly underneath..
Ive noticed that a few of you say not to get the stem wet when watering, could somebody tell me why please :oops:

They tend to suck up a lot of moisture and if it goes straight into the stem it could cause them to rot off.

One of my cucumber plants has came up its about five inches tall now my first time growing , to be fair it's in the house at the moment another 2 or 3 weeks and i'll be putting mine in the greenhouse. Along with the sugar snap peas.
