We have just hatched 9 Sasso and 3 Brahma chicks in and Octagon 20 - it was our first hatch - it was so simple - just followed the instructions - some friends out here held our hands when we were tempted ti check eggs and said leave them alone - we did and now have 12 happy chicks

only 10 in this pic as the remaing 2 hatched overnight and have not been moved

If you don't mind me asking James, how much did you have to pay for the hatching eggs ? Were they pure Sassos and where can I get hold of some ?

I paid 1.50 euros per egg = approx £1.15 per egg they are pure sasso's and the Brahma's are also pure but they were a present!!!!

AT the moment they are in the brooder and appear happy and are eating and drinking - well sheltered, if we are lucky to end up with 2 Coq's 1 goes back to the donor who lost her's a couple of weeks after giving us the eggs - Trousers just uped and did for no reason so we a fingers crossed for another handsome chap to take his place in the life of Mrs Trousers.

More pics will follow
