Hi, does anyone know if there is going to be a new series this program this year?
I liked the previous two.

Hope so too.

I know they've been busy doing seminars and stuff.
His lad went out to that island community thing to advise.

I always fancied trying the greenhouse crushed glass heatsink.
That was ingenious.
Pity ours is on a concrete base so I can't dig a pit.

I got the book for Christmas and it doesn't include all the techy detail - it deliberately leaves bits out so you have to work it out yourself. Doh  :?  Good read though  :D   You can go and stay there and do a course to learn to do these things properly.  Bridgit to courses on all the other non-techy stuff like lotion and potion making.

They're very savvy on the business side obviously !! :)

It implies that it's VERY hard to go green unless you have a TV contract, a best selling book and run courses and seminars to subsidise it all.

Still nice to be at least pale green. I just LOVE recycling and making things from old scraps of wood and bracketry from the dark corners of my shed.

I hope it is not as hard as you say as my ultimate would be to self sufficient on my own small holding.

I think they tried to cash in on it (and who can blame them) when they had the chance, I also recall the house they own costing a fortune, so if you didn't have a huuuge mortgage I think it could be simpler.

He has to be savvy to keep that ship afloat.  He and his family work hard and he has stuck his neck out to make it work. He earns his money through working as a motivational speaker and from back room stuff for the techy programmes like Scrapheap Challenge.  He is a brilliant presenter though and it's his enthusiasm which might help folks to think about being greener.  Better than say some grey scientific beardy bloke who might be boring so the country would just switch off :D

Quite agree. But I think it may be better to highlight the financial probs associated. Ie. don't get too dreamy because it IS hard work and you still need a pot of cash to survive.

I have great respect for him and especially his wife and kids. They are all brilliant advocates for green thinking and I've been inspired by some of the stuff.

Can't grow a tache like his though.  :(

I enjoyed the series but thought it should've been called, "It isn't cheap being green"!
