i had some 50 chili seedlings, cayene and jalapeno, growing on top of the microwave. I pricked them out into seperate cells and put them in the greenhouse yesterday.

Last night we had a bad frost, and every one of them has wilted over  none seemed to recover during the day, even though ive put propagator lids on them (didnt have any yesterday)

have i lost them?

I planted all mine in the house about a week or so ago and none of them have started growing. Guess peppers and chilli's are not for me either.  :(

I tried starting mine off in February last year, lost the lot even though I protected them from the frost.  I haven't yet started planting anything, as we've had MIL here, but now she's gone, I can get started!!!!!

sorry to hear abouti your disaster, dont give up thought, it happened to me when i first started growing chillis...the only way is up.

just remember to keep them warm until they have at least 4 or 5 decent sized leaves and the temp gets above 4 degrees.

I think, you might have done, but completely agree with SG, it is just the right time to sow.

Last year i was really really late getting everything sown, but i had a bumper crop of everything so dont worry about taking your time! Better to wait a little than keep disappointing yourself with dying seedlings!

I personally wont be starting anything off till the end of the month, although that decision was dictated by the wind destroying my greenhouse!!!

They should be fine as long as they are kept warm and out of draughts....don't forget to watch the nighttime temperatures too if you turn your heating off at night :)
