My polytunnel arrives this week and will be up at Easter, an old guy said why don't i start a few earlies in some pots to transfer into one of the poly's  beds so that i can still have some earlier ealry potatoes. I pointed out that some gardencentres sell them started in pots so i should be able to do it.

How would I do this, do they transplant well

To be honest never heard of it but worth a try with a few tubers.  I think I'd try 1 tuber in a big pot say ay least 12" diameter and fill up as the top grows keep 'em in the polytunnel xtra early spuds

Yes  - I think i will just stick them in some large pots and then put these in the polytunnel as soon aas it's up as i just believe i could transplant them without stressing them. Plus I'm sure I would only gain a couple of weeks think they can go into poly beds about 6 weeks ealier so first week in Feb rather than now.
