Small seed potatoes
« on: January 24, 2026, 12:36 »
Bought some (sharpes express) in B&M. 7 in the pack but they look much smaller than I normally find seed potatoes. See photo. I plant in pots 11 inches by 11 inches 4 normal sized spuds per pot. What difference if any does it matter if they are small?
I mainly use a Scottish firm for seed potatoes and they are definitely much bigger.

They are a bit small but I would just plant them as normal.  The tuber gets the plant going, but after that the roots feed it.  You could compensate for the small size of the seed tuber by just making sure you feed the pots well.
