Back (again)!

I'm not too good at this whole forum thing.... six weeks since I was last on!

Anyway, things are going quite well. I decided to keep it small scale since this is my first year, and have containerised everything. This means it can all sit on a south-facing wall where it is sheltered and warm. in fact, with the amazing weather we've had, it could be too warm!

I've got a cold-frame with potted herbs inside... lid is open almost all the time because of the heat... two big round tubs, one with garlic (which has all died) and the other with shallots (which haven't). The tubs are also growing carrots.
Then I've got an old bath with some broad beans in- these are doing well but the largest one has come into flower- is this a bad thing?
Finally a large wooden box with peas- these are just starting to sprout- I was a bit late with getting them in.

As a complete newbie, I'm frankly amazed that anything is growing at all! I wish I'd gone full steam ahead and dug over the main part of the patch- but that will wait now until next year.

Well I'm off to water everything copiously, and take some photos!

Don't worry Me and My Family are going to Stornoway on holiday next week so the rain is bound to come back then.

Althought we came at the same time last year and the weather was fantastic so hopefully the rain will wait a fortnight
