Sweet corn in S Devon

Any recommendations for sweetcorn in the mild and damp climate of S Devon? I've tried Swift for the last 2 years but it doesn't do that well for me. I'm on the shale & mudstone, not the sandstone.

Earlibird might be worth a try, try adding hummus/manure to your soil to make it more fertile!

I'm a fan of Swift too.

I chit the seeds and grow on in root trainers and plant out end of May in a block into fairly well manured/fed soil. I tend to mulch the bed with Comfrey at some point in the year.
