...do these things really attract ladybirds? my kids keep finding ladybirds  in the house so was thinking about buying a house but cant decide which one would be best (if at all), there seem to be 2 kinds, lots of wholes with bambo in,...

Whatever you do, don't pay GBP11.45 for one with short bamboo canes with holes. I got a roll of bamboo lawn edging from B&Q for £3.99 which will do the same trick I think...it hasn't got the decorative box round it but you can easily make a box if you really want it to look like your picture.
