  planted garlic in november, and it has grown about six inches with three shoots on each.the tips of each one seems to be dying back,rest of plant look healthy.should i cut off the damage or leave alone. any ideas would be grateful.

This is just the effect of cold weather I would just leave the plants to grow.
It may not look pretty but I don't think what you have described will impact the eventual crop.

Mine are about the same size and the tips of the leaves went brown during the frosts last week, but they seem healthy otherwise, so I am just going to leave them be.

You wouldn't know it from the brown tips, but garlic is extraordinarily hardy, so just let it do its thing and it'll work out. Garlic is originally from Siberia so it can take anything the UK dishes out.  :wink:

That's encouraging because mine are looking a bit sorry for themselves too. I'm sure they'll be fine.

Planted mine mid Nov, tip an inch under and they are only about 1/2" up!!! still under fleece so have mainly escaped frost.
