Newspaper deliveries

I know I'm old fashioned but I like my Times and local papers delivered daily. It used to be the newsagent who did this but times change, they can no longer find people to do this and sold their delivery rounds to a national delivery company three months ago. What a disastrous three months of non-delivery, late delivery, wrong papers, delivered to wrong address and so on. Barely a week goes by without some kind of delivery cock-up. Anyone else experienced this?

Paper rounds were like gold dust when I was young all of the newsagents had waiting list's of eager kids wanting to start.
I had to share my first round with my mate he did mornings and I did the evenings and magazines. He also did the Sundays.
For six evenings you were paid �1.50
How times have changed

Before the newsagent sold the round to this national delivery company, it was elderly folk who delivered the papers

I remember our delivery 'boy' did it on his motorbike. He roared up to our house, engine off, did us and next door, Started bike, drove six houses further up, same routine. He must have spent all his earnings on petrol.
