I used to work in a greenhouse that produced aubs amongst other things. I used to dread having to have anything to do with aubergines as the hairs on the leaves annoy your throat and skin

Also watch out for the the top bit (calyx) when you pick them they have awful thorns that hurt for a long time when the get you

If your thinking of growing liquorice use a container. This stuff grow like mint ,but deeper and stronger roots. It`s popping up all over the plot. Grrr
