Cold stored strawberries.
« on: June 20, 2024, 13:04 »
Does anyone know of a company that supplies cold store strawberry plants?
I grew some many years ago and was pleased with the results. I think this is what the commercials use. They seem not to be advertised and would normally be sent out in July for planting. These would produce a small crop of berries around September and the plant would give a normal crop the following year.

These do, but the lot I got all died except one, so can’t really recommend them at this time of year as I think the shock of going from cold to blazing heat overnight is what did for them. https://www.pomonafruits.co.uk/soft-fruit-bushes-vines/strawberry-plants/strawberry-runners/best-of-british-strawberry-plant-collection-24-plants
