I hope everyone has some sunshine today
I wonder if anyone can tell me what has happened to my early wight garlic. It appears to have sprouted multiple stems and leaves within the main stem
Not happened before and is only affecting that variety. I have lifted them but they don’t appear to be diseased

Curly garlic is usually due to thrips, which are tiny - so have a good look...

Do check for bugs but apart from that I can’t see why you couldn’t use the stems in cooking.

Excess nitrogen can cause garlic to do some weird things too. Bit strange it's just that variety though

I'm growing 6 varieties and one is doing a lot worse than the others, I'm hoping its because it's a particularly late variety and it'll take off in the coming months.

A bit late but thank to everyone for their replies.
I dug up all of that variety and essentially all of the tiny bulbs had begun to sprout hence the additional greenery. i wonder if had become confused by the weather (haven't we all  ) and thought it was time to sprout given that the weather in the NW of England has been like winter some days!
