Sunchocola Tomato
« on: May 12, 2024, 21:43 »
A friend gave me one to plant today.
It’s totally new to me!
Has anyone tried them?

What new to you varieties are you growing this year?

our new one to us this year is Gigantomo as the name suggests supposed to be very big we have several of these alongside Black Opal and Ailsa Craig [we already have signs of what i think is curly leaf top had this last year we cut away affected part then they regrew from sideshoots] hoping for a decent crop will report back on Gigantomo. Good luck.

I am growing 17 varieties this year, the result of some indecision!
Six of them are new to me.
Market King, Black Sea Man, Black Truffle, Banana Legs, Beauty King and Consuelo.

Wow AnneB, that’s quite a selection!
Out of your new varieties, I have heard of Banana Legs and Consuelo.
Please let us know how they do.

I am growing Black Krim, Yellow Pear, Orange Paruche, Muchamiel, Ananas, Tigerella, Sungold, a random Beefsteak and the Sunchocola as mentioned.

Let’s hope we all have a good tomato year!

My new variety is Costoluto Florentino on the recommendation of this forum.

As I already grow Stupice, Galina, Black Krim, Honeycomb, Sweet Million, Tigrella, Orange Banana (not grown for a few years and giving another chance) , Grushovka & Latah, Crimson Crush and primabella I don't have a huge capacity for new varieties!

[can anyone work out which seed company I'm a fan of  ;) ]

That’s another lovely lot of variation Potty Plotty Lotty - I can see we have Black Krim and Tigerella in common  :)

I have been given a couple of Marmandes today so need to add that to my list  :D
