Warm 18c, 100% dark, grey cloud and weather warnings for rain.

During my years as an environmental consultant, I often had to work long hours outdoors when it was 38°C or higher.  I recall one job in hot and humid east Texas during August where we were delineating wetlands (for preservation) along a large water supply pipeline. It was always 28 C or higher in the morning (still dark) when we left the hotel.  We worked until "can't" each day, often 8 plus hours, by which it was often 40°C or higher. At night, temperature stayed above 38°C until 10:00 pm.

Believe it or not, the body does adapt. At age 66, I can still get yard work done when it is 35°C, when I need to. I do try to avoid that of course.

The rain has stopped at the moment, but it is not very nice.    But the slugs and snails love it.

Well, this morning had bouts of lovely sunshine, with an occasional quick shower of rain but not enough to wet   the ground, then by 12:30 we got a proper shower that has continued on & off, dull, low cloud & very muggy.

Last evening was a monsoon!
Water running down the road outside like a river.
This morning is grey with a threat of rain at 10 am
Surprisingly I haven’t watered my outdoor tomatoes.

Mostly blue sky and sunshine, but cloud bubbling up now and again, warm enough to remove my cardigan, at least

Warm and muggy for most of the day but it's brightened up a bit now. 21C and sunny with a gentle breeze - unnervingly pleasant
